When to go cycling in Thailand
Being located close to the equator in the northern hemisphere, the best time for cycling Thailand is between September to May, with regional variations as described below:
Northern Highlands: The northern highlands in which Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai are located have cooler climate than the rest of Thailand. The cycle tour season here consequently runs from September to May. During the months of December and January, night time temperatures may dip below freezing point in some parts.
Southern Thailand: Southern Thailand is coastal and mostly flat. The cycle tour season here runs from November to March when the weather is sunny and pleasant. April to June are the hot summer months and July to October is the rainy season when southern Thailand receives considerable rainfall.

The Southern Thailand bicycle trip was an experience that I will never forget. Woody, our guide and Mr. Sit our driver made sure that I journey was insightful and educational. This trip is for those who want to experience the real Thailand, not just from the travel brochures. I highly suggest this bicycle trip, It will definitely change your perspective.

had a great trip
We had great trip with the Art of Bicycle in Northern Thailand, golden triangle, from Chiang May to Chiang Ray. Accommodations and food were great. Group leader and support team were attentive to our needs. I just would wish that we rode bike a little more and had extra bike and other bike parts with us on the road.

We have done two trips with Art of Bicycle. Bangkok to Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai to Luang Prabang. Amazing experiences. Our guides, Noom and Sunni on the first, Noom and Fem, and Bon Chan on the second were exceptional – knowledgeable attentive and charming. Will be booking more tours soon.
