For added convenience and to account for any unforeseen delays, we highly recommend booking an international flight that departs at 10 PM or later on the same day. Please note that the group transfer is included if you depart on the final day; however, if you choose to leave the next day, you will need to make your own transfer arrangements.
For those looking to extend their journey, consider spending a few relaxing days in Galle before heading to Colombo International Airport for your onward travel.
Weather
Sri Lanka’s unique climate offers a variety of experiences throughout the year, and choosing the right month can truly elevate your journey. The best time to take this trekking tour is from January to April and again in July and August. During these months, the skies are clear, the trails are dry, and the landscapes are at their most beautiful, making it ideal for hiking, glamping, and cultural exploration. Good months like June and December also offer pleasant conditions in most regions, with only light rain in coastal areas. May and September fall into the mixed category, where some areas like Gal Oya and Ella remain dry while others may experience short showers. However, October and November are considered off-season, as heavy rains and unpredictable weather can disrupt trekking routes and outdoor activities. Planning this tour in the right season ensures comfort, safety, and the most rewarding views and experiences.
From lush mountain paths to peaceful lakes and vibrant villages, the weather plays an essential role in bringing this journey to life.
