Fly into Kigali International Airport (KGL), Rwanda’s main international gateway and the primary airport for all international arrivals into the country.
Upon arrival, a private transfer is included from Kigali International Airport to your hotel in Kigali. The transfer takes approximately 20–30 minutes depending on traffic.
We recommend arriving at least one day before the cycling program begins if traveling from North America, Europe, or Australia to allow time for rest and adjustment.
Departure Information
Your tour concludes in Musanze / Volcanoes National Park region. On the final day, you will be transferred by road back to Kigali International Airport (KGL) for your onward international flight.
The drive from Volcanoes National Park to Kigali takes approximately 2.5–3 hours, followed by a 30-minute airport transfer.
We recommend booking departing flights from Kigali after 3:00 PM to allow sufficient transfer time from Musanze to the airport.
Rwanda enjoys a moderate tropical highland climate year-round due to its elevation. The best cycling seasons are June to September (main dry season) and December to February (short dry season), offering pleasant temperatures of 20-27°C with minimal rain. The route includes excellent quality sealed roads, well-maintained gravel dirt roads, and small rural tracks. Rwanda's road infrastructure is generally very good for cycling, with light traffic outside major cities.
