Day 1: Luang Prabang
Our adventure begins in the serene UNESCO World Heritage town of Luang Prabang. The afternoon unfolds with a leisurely 10km bicycle tour through the city’s tree-lined streets. We discover the elegance of Wat Xieng Thong, step inside the former Royal Palace, and climb Mount Phousi for breathtaking sunset views over the Mekong River. A visit to the UXO Centre provides a moving introduction to Laos’s history and resilience. In the evening, we gather for a memorable welcome dinner at Khaiphaen, a social enterprise restaurant serving authentic Lao cuisine while supporting local youth through vocational training.

Day 2: Luang Prabang
After breakfast, we head to the lush countryside for a gentle trek that winds through local villages and forest paths, eventually leading to the turquoise cascades of Kuang Si Waterfalls. We can swim in the cool pools, enjoy a picnic lunch, and visit the local bear rescue centre. On our way back to town, we stop at a Lao Buffalo Dairy to savour some ice cream.
The evening is ours to relax or explore Luang Prabang’s lively night market. For dinner, we gather at Lost in Baan, a vibrant colonial-style restaurant where the mouthwatering flavours of Laos meet a modern European twist, serving inspired fusion cuisine in a lively and welcoming atmosphere.

Day 3: Luang Prabang
This morning, we glide along the Nam Khan River on a gentle kayaking adventure, drifting past lush jungle banks and quaint riverside villages, soaking in the peaceful rhythm of life on the water. After a riverside lunch, we dive into a hands-on craft workshop at Ock Pop Tok, where talented artisans reveal the secrets of natural dyeing and weaving, and we try our hand at creating our own traditional souvenirs. By late afternoon, we return to Luang Prabang, with time to unwind and soak in the golden light at the city’s charming sunset cafés.

Day 4: Nong Khiaw
Today, we start the day early, leaving Luang Prabang behind as we wind through the scenic northern mountains toward the Hydro Electric Dam. From there, We will switch to a long-tail boat for a cruise to Sop Kong, a village set among dramatic limestone cliffs on the Nam Ou River. From the village, we enjoy a short hike through rice paddies and forest trails to reach Tad Mok Waterfall, where we can cool off with a refreshing swim. As evening falls, we unwind on our lodge terrace, watching the sun set over the striking karst peaks and soaking in the tranquil beauty surrounding us.

Day 5: Nong Khiaw
Today, we set off on two wheels, cycling along quiet rural paths toward Muang Ngoi, a charming village accessible only by boat. Along the way, we pedal past small farms, smiling children, and dramatic limestone scenery, taking in the peaceful rhythm of village life. After a local lunch, we explore caves and rice fields, then make our way back to Nong Khiaw by bike or boat. Day 6: Nong Khiaw
We start the day with a tranquil boat ride along the Nam Ou River, gliding through calm waters and soaking in the stunning scenery that surrounds us. Along the way, we visit a small Lao village nestled on the riverbank, offering a window into traditional rural life. From there, we set off on a hike through gentle streams and lush rice paddies to reach the base of the famous 100 Waterfalls.
For the next few hours, we are immersed in the sights and sounds of cascading water and dense jungle. Our guide leads us through the falls, and in the heart of this natural wonder, we enjoy a local-style lunch, prepared right on the rocks.
After lunch, a villagers’ trail at the top of the waterfalls guides us back down into the valley, revealing breathtaking panoramic views of the Nam Ou Valley along the way. We conclude the hike with a scenic return to the village where our journey began, carrying memories of an unforgettable day in nature.

Day 7: Ban Cat
This morning, we set off on a scenic drive west toward Nam Kat Yorla Pa Eco Resort, tucked deep in the forests of Oudomxay Province. Along the way, we stop at a tea plantation, where we tour the lush gardens, sample fresh teas, and enjoy a light local lunch. On arrival at the resort, we explore the surrounding trails, crossing suspension bridges, wandering past flowing streams, and discovering small waterfalls that create a magical natural playground.
The afternoon is ours to immerse in the forest, take a leisurely walk, or simply relax in our private bungalow. As evening falls, we can enjoy the peaceful sounds of nature, read a book, or stargaze under the clear night sky, soaking in the serenity of this enchanting retreat.

Day 8: Ban Cat
Today, after breakfast, we embark on a 2-hour trek through the jungle, crossing 13 rope and suspension bridges on our way to the stunning Nam Kat Waterfall. For those seeking more adventure, mountain biking is also available along scenic trails. At the heart of the jungle, we enjoy a delicious lunch in the jungle restaurant.
After a rewarding day of exploration, we return to the resort to unwind, whether with a traditional Lao herbal sauna or a quiet evening by the riverside, soaking in the peaceful surroundings. The resort also offers a variety of free activities, including a fascinating Biodiversity Museum, which we can explore at our own pace to learn more about the local wildlife and environment.
Day 9: Departure
Our final morning is free to soak up the peaceful forest atmosphere. After breakfast, we transfer to Luang Prabang by train, enjoying the scenic journey and reflecting on the incredible experiences we have shared — from cascading waterfalls and winding rivers to charming villages, all enriched by the warm spirit of Laos that has accompanied us throughout our adventure.

Your tour begins in Luang Prabang. It is served by Luang Prabang International Airport (LPQ). There is a shared taxi booth at the Luang Prabang airport which you can use to book a taxi to your hotel. The city centre is about 5 kms (3.1 mi) from the airport.
Departure
Your tour concludes in Luang Prabang. We will transfer from Ban Cat to Luang Prabang by train (note: train fare is not included in the package). From there, you can continue your onward journey via Luang Prabang International Airport (LPQ).

The best time to enjoy a multi-adventure tour in Northern Laos is from September to March, when the weather is cool and dry, with daytime temperatures between 15°C and 25°C.
