Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Chiang Mai
After arrival, we gather at our hotel in Chiang Mai. We have bike fit session and a gentle walking exploration of ancient temples within the old city walls.
As the sun sets, we come together for a traditional Khantoke dinner- a northern Thai feast served on low tables while graceful dancers perform classical routines that have been passed down through generations. It's the perfect introduction to the warmth and traditions of northern Thailand, setting the tone for the adventure ahead.

Day 2: Mae Rim
We start the day by shuttling out of Chiang Mai to escape the morning hustle and bustle, setting the stage for a peaceful and scenic ride. Soon, we pedal along quiet rural roads and serene canals, soaking in the vibrant colors of flower farms, the gleaming roofs of local temples, and the lively energy of bustling markets. Every turn offers a new glimpse of everyday Thai life, framed by lush greenery and charming countryside vistas.
At midday, we arrive at a small village, where we share a traditional Thai-style lunch with a local family. Swapping stories and laughter, we get a glimpse of life here through the warm hospitality and language skills of our guides. After lunch, we wander the village on foot, exploring quaint streets lined with traditional wooden Rhai houses and small artisan shops, taking in the sights, sounds, and rhythms of a community largely untouched by tourists.
By the end of the day, we feel both connected to the land and its people, fully immersed in authentic rural Thailand.

Day 3: Chiang Dao
Today, we swap two wheels for paddles and dive into an exhilarating white-water rafting adventure along the Mae Taeng River. The rapids sweep us through dense jungle corridors and between mist-covered mountain valleys, offering pure adrenaline and awe in equal measure.
After a hearty local lunch, we continue to Chiang Dao, where emerald hills and limestone cliffs beckon. Lacing up our hiking boots, we set out through lush jungle paths to Wat Tham Pakpiang, a serene cave temple carved into the rock. Hidden from the usual tourist trail, it’s the tranquil and equally beautiful neighbor of the famed Wat Tham Chiang Dao, the perfect spot to slow down and soak in northern Thailand’s natural and spiritual charm.

Day 4: Thaton
This morning offers us choices- relax at our resort and soak in the spectacular views of Chiang Dao mountain rising majestically above the valley, or take a gentle walk through the Chiang Dao Wildlife Refuge where birds call from the canopy.
After lunch, we're back on our bikes, pedaling along lightly traveled roads that wind toward the Mae Kok River Valley. The landscape shifts from mountains to rolling farmland, and we pass through villages where children wave enthusiastically and locals go about their daily routines. These quiet roads reveal the authentic rhythm of rural Thai life, far from the tourist trails and selfie spots.

Day 5: Mae Chan
We continue our journey along the peaceful Mae Kok River, cycling through a tapestry of small villages and fertile farmlands where life moves at a different pace. These back roads see few foreigners, and we're greeted with curious smiles and genuine warmth.
We stop to observe everyday activities- farmers tending their crops, artisans crafting traditional goods, children playing in front yards. In the afternoon, we ascend to Mae Salong, a fascinating mountain village settled by remnants of Chiang Kai-shek's army who fled China after the civil war. The town feels distinctly Chinese with its markets selling dried herbs, aromatic teas, and preserved fruits, creating a unique cultural blend high in the Thai mountains.

Day 6: Mae Chan
This morning, our hotel staff members guide us on a cycling exploration of villages surrounding Tantawan Tented Camp, riding along a mix of dirt and paved farm roads. We witness agricultural life up close- visiting fields, meeting farmers, and learning about traditional farming methods that have sustained these communities for generations.
The afternoon brings a delightful cooking class led by the resort's head chef, who shares the secrets of authentic northern Thai cuisine. We learn to balance flavors and prepare regional specialties that you won't find in typical Thai restaurants abroad—no pad thai here, just genuine local dishes passed down through families.

Day 7: Chiang Saen
Today we ride through some of northern Thailand's most beautiful agricultural landscapes- rolling hills covered in manicured tea plantations where workers carefully pick leaves by hand. The air is fresh and fragrant as we cycle through this green wonderland. We stop at one of the region's premier tea producers for a fascinating introduction to cultivation and processing, followed by a tasting of their finest varieties.
If we're fortunate, we also visit a cacao farm for chocolate sampling. By afternoon, we arrive in Chiang Saen on the mighty Mekong River, where the borders of Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar meet. Traditional Thai massages await to soothe our cycling muscles before dinner along the riverbank.

Day 8: Chiang Rai
This morning, we step back in time as we explore Chiang Saen, an ancient town that traces its roots to the Mengrai Era of the Lanna Kingdom, founded in 1329. Walking through its quiet lanes, we discover centuries-old temple ruins—silent witnesses to a once-glorious past. In those days, temples were built by using stone cut from the ground and mountains sides has long vanished with time. As we wander among moss-covered chedis and crumbling stupas, history feels alive around us. Later in the afternoon, we journey back to Chiang Rai city, where we celebrate our adventure and share memories over a warm farewell dinner.

Day 9: Departure
After breakfast in Chiang Rai, enjoy a final stroll through the city or relax at your hotel. Later, transfer to the airport for your departure flight. Take with you fond memories of the local temples and the serene northern Thai landscapes, bidding farewell to this enchanting region.

Weather
The northern highlands of Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai enjoy a cooler, more comfortable climate than much of Thailand, making them ideal for an active multi-adventure and biking tour.
The best time to travel is during winter (November–February) when days are clear, dry, and pleasantly cool — perfect for cycling, hiking, and outdoor exploration. Daytime temperatures average in the mid to upper 20s°C, with crisp evenings and little to no rain.
From March to May, the region heats up significantly, with temperatures often reaching the upper 30s to low 40s°C, making intense outdoor activities less enjoyable.
The rainy or “green” season (June–October) brings lush scenery and fewer crowds. Though afternoon downpours are common, they are short-lived and often followed by sunshine, allowing morning rides or hikes to proceed comfortably.
