Weather

Vietnam’s weather varies beautifully from north to south, offering something special in every season. Generally, the country enjoys a tropical climate with distinct regional variations, but for most travelers, the best time for a multi-adventure tour is from October to April, when conditions are dry, skies are clear, and temperatures are pleasantly mild across much of the country.

During the winter months (December to February), the weather is cooler and comfortable, ideal for cycling through rural landscapes, hiking through verdant valleys, or kayaking in calm rivers and bays. The air is crisp in the northern and central regions, while the southern plains and deltas remain warm and sunny—perfect for outdoor exploration.

As summer (May to August) arrives, temperatures rise and the countryside turns lush and green. Occasional tropical showers freshen the air, often falling in short bursts that rarely disrupt travel. This is a great season for water-based adventures, such as kayaking, swimming, and coastal cycling.

By autumn (September to November), Vietnam transitions into some of its most scenic months—rivers shimmer under golden light, and the countryside bursts with color after the summer rains. It’s an excellent time for photography, cycling through rice fields, and immersing yourself in Vietnam’s natural beauty.

Overall, Vietnam’s diverse climate ensures that adventure awaits year-round—whether you’re hiking misty highlands, cycling through ancient towns, or cruising the tranquil waterways of the south.

Note: Passport and visa regulations can change at any time. Stay proactive by checking for the latest updates to ensure a smooth and stress-free journey.

Insurance

Medical insurance that covers medical costs in case of an accident during the trip is mandatory to participate in our tours.

We recommend to purchase adequate travel insurance in order to participate in our tours and protect yourself from unforeseen events. Our experience shows that guests who purchase travel insurance—including coverage for all activities on the itinerary, trip cancellation, interruption, delay, baggage damage, loss or theft, personal accident, death and repatriation costs, medical and emergency expenses (including Covid-19), and personal liability—travel with greater peace of mind.

Is proof of medical insurance required?

Yes. You must provide your insurer's name, policy number, and emergency contact via our reservation form. This is mandatory. If you cannot provide proof, you’ll need to purchase insurance before traveling with us.

Can I use my credit card insurance?

Yes, as long as it meets our requirements and provides adequate coverage. Ensure you have an emergency contact number and policy number available.

When should I buy travel insurance?

Purchase travel insurance as soon as you've paid in full or booked your flights.

Does Art of Bicycle Trips sell travel insurance?

We do not sell travel insurance directly, as we believe our customers should have the freedom to choose a policy that best suits their needs. However, we recommend Insured Nomads as a great starting point.
