Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Ston
Upon arrival at Dubrovnik Airport, you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to the Pelješac Peninsula, where the charming medieval town of Ston becomes your home for the first two nights. Depending on your arrival time, you may wander through its quiet cobbled streets or climb the mighty city walls, often called the “Great Wall of Europe,” stretching dramatically across the hillside. Renowned for its world-class oysters and fresh seafood, Ston is the perfect place to enjoy your first authentic Croatian meal. As evening falls, watch the sun dip into the Adriatic and soak in the calm, timeless beauty of this Dalmatian gem.

Day 2: Ston
Begin your morning with a scenic walk through the fertile fields of Ston before stepping onto the historic Napoleonic Road, a stone path crafted during French rule in the early 19th century. The trail winds inland, unveiling sweeping vineyards built on dramatic stone terraces that rise above the turquoise Adriatic. As you walk, stunning panoramas open up with views of Ston’s mighty walls, the glistening salt pans, and bays dotted with oyster farms shimmering in the distance. Covering 16 km with a gentle elevation gain of 310 m, the route offers the perfect balance of adventure and accessibility. Along the way, pause to capture photographs or savor a taste of the region’s renowned wines. Return to Ston in the afternoon to relax and reflect on a day filled with history, nature, and breathtaking scenery.
Elevation : 310 m

Day 3: Mljet
After breakfast, transfer to the port of Prapratno and board the ferry to Sobra on Mljet, one of Croatia’s most beautiful and unspoiled islands. From the port, a short drive takes you to the Mljet National Park area, your base for the next two nights. Often called “the green island” for its lush pine forests, Mljet is best known for its two saltwater lakes, which are warm enough for swimming even early in the season. Today’s walk begins in Polace or Pomena and follows scenic trails around the lakes, winding through quiet bays and peaceful forest paths. Covering 14 km with only a gentle elevation, it is a serene introduction to the island’s natural beauty. In the evening, settle into your cozy B&B and enjoy the tranquil island atmosphere.
Elevation :150 m

Day 4: Mljet
Today’s hike begins in Polace and takes you up to Montokuc, the highest point in Mljet National Park, where sweeping 360° views reveal the island’s lush forests, shimmering lakes, and the sparkling Adriatic beyond. From this vantage point, the trail descends gently towards the lakes before continuing to the picturesque village of Soline at the far edge of the park. Along the way, you will pass through peaceful pine forests, quiet coastal viewpoints, and traditional stone houses that add a touch of old-world charm. The 12 km walk includes an elevation gain of 300 m, making it both invigorating and rewarding with scenery that will stay etched in memory. Return in the late afternoon for a relaxed evening by the water, surrounded by the calm and beauty of Mljet.
Elevation :300 m

Day 5: Dubrovnik
After breakfast, take the morning ferry back to Dubrovnik. On arrival, you have a flexible day with time to explore this magnificent city on your own or join an optional guided walking tour of the Old Town. Dubrovnik, often called the “Pearl of the Adriatic,” is a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its red-roofed houses, marble streets, and mighty stone walls.
You may choose to hike up Mount Srd for panoramic views over the city and coastline, spend the day walking along the famous city walls, or take a short boat ride to the tranquil island of Lokrum. Alternatively, simply lose yourself in the lively squares, charming alleyways, and seaside cafés that make Dubrovnik so captivating. The optional city tour, lasting up to two hours, provides an excellent orientation and brings the city’s rich history to life. As George Bernard Shaw once said, “Those who seek paradise on Earth should come to Dubrovnik and see Dubrovnik.

Day 6: Dubrovnik
This morning, you will take a ferry from Dubrovnik’s Gruž port to the tranquil island of Lopud, a scenic 55-minute sail across the Adriatic. Rich in lush Mediterranean vegetation and blessed with sunny days, Lopud enchants visitors with its stone houses, ancient churches, and noble palaces that line the charming bay. Several walking trails crisscross the island, the most rewarding being a 9 km loop that reveals old forts, chapels, a botanical garden, and dramatic cliffside views. Along the way, you can visit the famous sandy beach of Šunj, one of the finest in the Dubrovnik area. The trail begins at the port and ascends through narrow village streets to the viewpoint at Fort Kaštio and the Church of St. Ivan, before continuing along the southern cliffs and looping back to the town. With its peaceful atmosphere and stunning landscapes, Lopud is the perfect getaway from Dubrovnik for a day of hiking and relaxation.
Elevation :300 m

Day 7: Konavle
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the picturesque Konavle Valley, a fertile countryside region stretching between Dubrovnik and the Montenegrin border. Known for its traditional stone villages, rolling fields, and the clear waters of the Ljuta River, Konavle offers a serene contrast to the bustling coast. Here you can choose between two rewarding walking routes: a gentle 12.5 km trail through the valley with minimal elevation, passing rustic hamlets and riverside paths, or a more challenging 16 km coastal route with a 400 m climb, rewarding you with sweeping views over the Adriatic. Both options immerse you in the region’s natural beauty and rural heritage, offering glimpses of everyday life in this authentic corner of Dalmatia.
Elevation :100 m - 400 m

Day 8:
After breakfast, your journey through southern Dalmatia comes to an end with a transfer to Dubrovnik Airport for your onward flight. Take with you lasting memories of medieval towns, vineyard-clad hills, island trails, and the sparkling Adriatic that has accompanied you throughout the week. Weather
The best period for hiking in Croatia is late spring (end of April till the end of June) and early autumn (end of August till the end of October). In the period mentioned it is not extremely hot, there is not too much traffic, and if you did not pre-book accommodation you can find it almost anywhere as it is not the main tourist season. It can happen if you have a couple of days of rain (rain showers). Summer temperatures vary from 22°C to 26°C in the continental part of the country, 15°C to 20°C in mountain regions, and 26°C to 30°C in the coastal region. The highest tourist season is from mid-July to mid-August, and usually not so easy to find accommodation (if not pre-booked).
Late November is not recommended for biking in Croatia as many hotels and restaurants are closed and weather is very unpredictable.
