Today we travel into the scenic Karo Highlands toward the cool mountain town of Berastagi. Along the route, we enjoy views of Mount Sinabung and Mount Sibayak, two of Sumatra’s most famous volcanoes. Today we continue through Sumatra’s volcanic landscapes toward the spectacular region of Lake Toba, the world’s largest volcanic lake. Upon arrival, we check into Tabo Cottages, a peaceful lakeside retreat overlooking the tranquil waters of Lake Toba. Today we depart Samosir Island and transfer by ferry and road toward Medan Airport for our flight to Jakarta, Indonesia’s dynamic capital city. Upon arrival, we check into our accomodation, offering comfortable facilities and convenient airport access. The remainder of the evening is free to relax or enjoy optional exploration of Jakarta’s lively dining scene and modern urban atmosphere. The journey from Sumatra’s peaceful volcanic landscapes to Indonesia’s energetic metropolitan capital provides an interesting contrast while highlighting the country’s remarkable geographical and cultural diversity.
