ARRIVAL

Your tour starts in Lugano. The most convenient airport is Milan Malpensa Airport, about 75 km from Lugano. After landing, you can take a direct train from Malpensa Airport Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 to Lugano with one change at Mendrisio or Milan, which usually takes around 1.5 to 2 hours. Alternatively, you can book a private transfer or airport taxi, which takes about 1 hour 15 minutes depending on traffic.

If you prefer public transport, regular cross border buses and trains connect the airport to Lugano’s city center and main railway station.

DEPARTURE

Your tour ends in Lugano. For your onward journey, we recommend taking a train or pre booked taxi from your hotel to Lugano railway station, which is well connected to major airports in the region. The most convenient departure airport is Milan Malpensa Airport, reachable by train in about 1.5 to 2 hours. Trains run frequently throughout the day.

Private transfers and taxis are also available if you prefer a direct journey to the airport.

The hiking season around Lugano runs from April to October, when trails are dry and views are clear. Late spring and early autumn offer the most comfortable conditions.
