Arrival

Travellers can arrive via Girona Airport (GRO) or Barcelona Airport (BCN). Girona Airport offers seasonal connections across Europe, especially in summer, with airlines such as Ryanair, Jet2.com, and others, while flights are reduced in the off-season. From Girona Airport, a bus to Girona takes approximately 25 minutes (€2.80), while a taxi takes about 25 minutes (€54). Barcelona Airport is a major international hub with year-round connections. From Barcelona Airport, an hourly bus reaches Girona in around 2 hours 30 minutes (€19.50). Train travel from the airport requires a transfer: first reach Barcelona Sants station, then take a train to Girona. From Barcelona Sants, standard trains run approximately every hour (1 hour 35 minutes, €13.90), while high-speed AVE/AVANT trains take about 38 minutes (from €17.40). As Sant Feliu de Guíxols has no train station, travellers must continue from Girona by bus (around 50 minutes, €6) or taxi. Alternatively, direct buses are available from Barcelona central bus station to Sant Feliu de Guíxols (approximately 2 hours 20 minutes, €11). Private transfer services are also available from both Barcelona Airport and Girona Airport directly to Sant Feliu de Guíxols. Check-in at the first hotel is available from 13:00h, and guests arriving after 20:00h are requested to inform the hotel or tour office in advance.

Departure

After breakfast on the final day, departure takes place from Torroella de Montgrí. Travellers can return to Girona by bus or taxi (approximately 50 minutes), from where onward connections are available. From Girona, trains run regularly to Barcelona Sants station (standard and high-speed options available), allowing easy access to Barcelona Airport (BCN). Alternatively, travellers may continue to Girona Airport (GRO) for flights, especially during the summer season when more routes are available. Taxi transfers can also be arranged directly from Torroella de Montgrí to either Barcelona Airport (approximately 1 hour 30 minutes, €225) or Girona Airport for a more convenient journey.

TThe Costa Brava has a mild Mediterranean climate that can be classified season-wise for walking.

Spring (March to June) is the best season with pleasant temperatures of 20–25°C (68–77°F), blooming scenery, and ideal conditions for outdoor activities.

Summer (July to August) is a challenging season, as temperatures rise to 33–34°C (91–93°F), making long walks tiring despite being the peak tourist period.

Autumn (September to October) is again the best season offering comfortable temperatures of 20–25°C (68–77°F) with stable weather and fewer crowds.

Winter (November to February) falls under good to off-season, with cooler temperatures around 10–15°C (50–59°F) and occasional rainfall, making it less ideal but still manageable for light exploration.
