Arrival

The tour begins in Matera. The nearest airports for arrival are Bari Karol Wojtyła Airport (BRI), located approximately 65 km from Matera, and Brindisi Airport (BDS), approximately 150 km away. Optional private transfers are available from Bari Airport to Matera at a cost of €67 per person (minimum 2 passengers), and from Brindisi Airport to Matera at €144 per person (minimum 2 passengers).

Hotel rooms are typically available from 15:00 on the day of arrival.

Departure

The tour ends in Lecce. For departures, private transfers are available from Lecce to Bari Airport at €103 per person and to Brindisi Airport at €44 per person (both with a minimum of 2 passengers).

A supplement of €25 per service applies for night transfers between 22:00 and 07:00. Additionally, city center pick-ups or drop-offs in Bari or Brindisi incur an extra €20 per service.

The off-season includes January, February, and December, when temperatures range between 5°C to 15°C (41°F to 59°F). During this time, the weather is cooler and quieter, making it ideal for budget-friendly travel, although it may feel slightly cold for long walking days.

Lastly, the mixed season includes July and August, when temperatures rise between 30°C to 38°C (86°F to 100°F). Although this is the peak tourist season with a lively atmosphere, the intense heat can make daytime walking more challenging.
