Arrival

Arrive at Kigali International Airport (KGL) on Day 1, located approximately 10 km from the city center. Upon arrival, you will be met in the arrivals hall and transferred by private vehicle to your hotel in Kigali, a journey of around 20–25 minutes depending on traffic.

If you are arriving independently, taxis and ride-hailing services such as Yego Moto and Move are widely available at the airport. Public transport options are limited from the airport, but local buses operate within Kigali city once you reach the main terminals.

**Departure **

On Day 10, depart from Kigali International Airport (KGL). Your journey begins with a private transfer from Volcanoes National Park (Musanze region) to Kigali, covering approximately 117 km in 2–3 hours.

For those traveling independently, public buses run regularly from Musanze to Kigali (approx. 2.5–3 hours), operated by companies such as Volcano Express. From Kigali bus stations, taxis are available for the short transfer to the airport.

It is recommended to schedule your onward flight later in the day to allow sufficient time for the transfer and airport procedures.

Rwanda enjoys a pleasant, temperate climate year-round due to its high elevation, with daytime temperatures ranging between 15–27°C (59–81°F) in Kigali, while higher regions like Nyungwe Forest and Volcanoes National Park are cooler at around 10–22°C (50–72°F), often with misty mornings and evenings.

The main dry season from June to September offers the best trekking conditions with temperatures of 16–26°C (61–79°F), clear skies, and excellent wildlife visibility. The shorter dry season from December to February sees temperatures around 17–27°C (63–81°F), providing warm and comfortable travel conditions.

The rainy seasons (March to May and October to November) experience temperatures between 15–25°C (59–77°F), with regular showers that create lush green landscapes but can make trails muddy and more challenging. Lake Kivu remains slightly warmer, with temperatures around 20–28°C (68–82°F), making it pleasant throughout the year.
