ARRIVAL

Your tour begins in Bucharest, with arrival at Henri Coandă International Airport (OTP), the main international gateway into Romania. After landing, you can reach the city using official airport taxis, ride-hailing apps like Uber or Bolt, or a pre-arranged private transfer.

Taxi pick-up points are clearly marked outside the arrivals terminal, and it is recommended to either use the airport’s authorized taxi machines or book through an app to avoid overcharging. The drive to central Bucharest typically takes around 30 to 45 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.

If you have opted for the optional pre-tour services mentioned in the itinerary, transfers from the airport can also be arranged in advance, making your arrival smoother and more convenient.

DEPARTURE

Your tour ends with a return to Bucharest, where you will depart from Henri Coandă International Airport (OTP). Based on your flight timing, you may have a scheduled transfer included, or you can easily arrange transport from your hotel. Taxis and ride-hailing services are widely available and are the most convenient way to reach the airport.

It is advisable to leave at least 45 to 60 minutes for the journey, and more during peak traffic hours, to ensure a stress-free departure. Planning to arrive at the airport at least two to three hours before your flight is recommended, especially for international departures.

The best time for this hiking tour is from June to September, when trails are clear and conditions are stable. During this period, daytime temperatures range between 15°C to 25°C (59°F to 77°F) in the mountains, though higher altitudes can feel cooler. Early summer brings fresh greenery, while late summer offers the most stable weather.

May and October can still be pleasant but come with more variable conditions, including cooler temperatures and occasional rain. Winter months are not suitable due to snow and difficult trail conditions, especially at higher elevations like Omu Peak.
